Why does the wardrobe look different on the shop floor than in the installed room?

The shop floor is typically lit by overhead fluorescent or LED panels that provide consistent, diffuse light from above. There is no solar angle effect. The installed east-facing wardrobe is lit by direct solar radiation at a shallow angle for 90 minutes after sunrise, which creates the glare-onset curve described here. To compare fairly, bring a sample or a rendered elevation to the site at 6:45am and view it under the same light angle as the installed shutters. The colour will match.

Can we use a matte lacquer instead of gloss to avoid the glare problem?

A matte or satin lacquer (0–20 gloss) will diffuse light more uniformly and reduce glare, but it will also reduce saturation across all daylight hours. No. Choosing a darker or more saturated colour to "compensate" for the glare shift will result in an oversaturated, unbalanced appearance during the 6:45am peak window. Can we install a blind or shade to control the morning glare?
